In addition to creating fine art gourds, Bonnie is also a well respected instructor.  She has taught gourd carving and crafting classes for many years and travels extensively, teaching at workshops from coast to coast. Her book, "Gourds: Southwestern Techniques and Projects" was first published in 2006 and is in the third edition. In addition, Bonnie’s work is featured in several other books and publications.

Bonnie has earned many awards in different media, including multiple "Best of Show" awards.  In 2010, Bonnie was selected for the National Park Service "Artist in Residence" program, serving at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
