This piece is heavily carved, burned and textured to create the faux mother-of-pearl decoration. Pull the ends off the gold colored pin and gently pull the ears off the pin. Remove the pin and make sure you return the pressure-sensitive ears to the same slot positions you removed them from. Gently snug them into position and snug the end pieces to create tension. The base of the piece is decorated.
