As a woodturner, I strive to create distinctive, unusual objects, no two alike; however, inspiration toward this goal can often be elusive. Recently the discoveries of Robert J. G. Craig on tangential concepts in a segmented  array have provided me with untold inspiration, as well as opening up new opportunities for design and construction. The majority of my present work is in the segmented field utilizing tangential and radial arrays. Presently I am experimenting in this mode for future creations and am exploring ways to unite standard segmented techniques with those of Craig’s concepts.
