Big Leaf Maple (sphere), African Blackwood (stand)
4-1/2”h x 2-1/2”w x 2-3/4”d
The shapes within Mother Nature’s repertoire are vast and diverse. Everything from honey combs to crystals to eukaryotic plant cells. Nature can provide the artist a nearly infinite source of inspiration. Karen has taken this simple turned Maple sphere and derived a pattern that is both visually pleasing and tactile. Pyrography, artists pens and radium paint bring this to life. Finished with semi-gloss polyurethane. A turned and carved African Blackwood chair provides a comfortable display. Sanded and polished.
