I aim to create sculptural vessels in wood that are open to a variety of decorative expressions.
My processes include, at the core, the shaping of sequenced leaves of fine veneers. I hold the leaves in specially designed jigs and working with the wood grain, shape the forms by hand.

Currently I am developing upright vessel forms influenced by methods used by ceramicists and potters working in clay.
I am very keen to reflect  craftsmanship previously practiced in Ireland particularly within the Arts & Crafts period when the Yeats sisters were promoting Irish craft with integrity. I will continue my explorations in wood to highlight its versatility and range of sculptural possibilities.
